Biography: Von Pea

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Von Pea has been emceeing since 1991. Initially attracted to hip hop by the likes of Another Bad Creation and so many other young rappers that were near his own age, Von would eventually shift his interest to those who would become his strongest influences – A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, and Biggie.

More recently, Von has worked with artists throughout the United States and as far as Europe. He has put out two independent releases – Audible Silence and The Beatmaker, which were widely circulated through the internet. Von has also worked with members of the North Carolina-based Justice League and up-and-coming producer Nicolay. In addition to emceeing, Von Pea has been producing his songs for his use and other emcees as well, mastering the use of Fruityloops software.

Von Pea has recently wrapped a group project under the name Tanya Morgan that will be released in Winter 2004.
